Extreme weather dominated the end of February as severe and damaging storms engulfed the whole of the UK.

Storm Eunice was the worst storm to hit our central southern operating area in over 30 years when it battered the south of England on 18 February. Conditions for our teams were worsened still as Eunice was sandwiched between Storms Dudley and Franklin: the first time that three named storms affected the UK within the space of a week, since the introduction of the storm naming system.

In advance of extreme weather events, SSEN enacts its well-established resilience plans and we are incredibly proud of how our teams responded to the exceptional events in late February. Once again, we would like to thank our customers for their patience as our teams worked tirelessly to quickly and safely restore power across the region.
